Relines & Rebases
- To refit the inside of the denture in contact with soft tissues of the mouth, to make it fit more securely
- If your gums shrink and the dentures are not refitted, the lower denture may become out of alignment with the upper denture, which can cause the face muscles to ‘collapse’. This may give the appearance of premature ageing
- Badly fitting dentures can also cause:
- – Pain, on the gums and around the ears
- – Clicking sound
- – Headaches
- – Cracked corners of the mouth (angular cheilitis)
